TOP 5 QUÉBEC CITY THINGS TO DO: ACTIVITIES

1. Relax the day away at STRØM Spa

Quebec City Things to Do

STRØM is a mecca for those who love spas. It has been thoughtfully designed with unique details throughout to make the space as tranquil as possible. There are multiple pools that overlook the St. Lawrence River, thermal baths, eucalyptus steam room, saunas, meditation rooms, salt floatation pool, hammocks, swings, and even a meditation float bed (you must try this!). STRØM also has an onsite restaurant. We highly recommend the squash salad.

2. Get an adrenaline rush zip lining over a waterfall

Quebec City Things to Do

Parc de la Chute Montmorency is only 15 minutes from Old Québec. There are hiking trails, a 83 metre high waterfall, and ziplining. If you like living on the edge – literally – this park also has Via Ferrata. There are multiple routes, some of them letting you get quite close to the falls. BOOK A 1/2 DAY TOUR HERE

3. Go winery hopping on an island

Quebec City Things to Do

You can’t miss a day trip to Île d’Orléans, also known as Québec’s kitchen because of all the farms. It is located less than 20 minutes from Old Québec City. Our first stop here was to Cassis Monna et Filles, a black currant winery… yes, their wines are all made from black currants instead of grapes. We highly recommend getting a full flight to taste the different options. This island is full of adventure so plan to spend a whole day visiting various wineries, a lavender field, or even do some strawberry picking! BOOK A GUIDED BIKE WINERY HOPPING TOUR HERE

4. Walk the streets of Old Québec and sip coffee at a café like you’re in Paris!

Quebec City Things to Do

Old Québec was built in 1608 and the architecture has been preserved. A lot of people say they “feel like they are in Europe” when they walk the streets of Old Québec. It really is a site to see. And it’s perfect for exploring in the summer when you can take a leisurely stroll around in the warm weather. There are lots of cute shops, galleries, and cafes so make sure you plan to spend a few hours walking these cobblestone streets. BOOK A PRIVATE GUIDED WALKING TOUR HERE.

5. Bike through Québec City

Quebec City Things to Do

Québec City has lots of trail options for those who want to be more active on their holiday. Québec City has put together a great list of cycling routes that you can check out here. We did a guided tour with Cyclo Services through the city, parks, and ended up at Le Grand Marché De Québec where we got lunch and shopped for some local artisan jewelry. QUÉBEC CITY THINGS TO DO: WHERE TO STAY

Fairmont Le Château Frontenac

We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel. This iconic hotel is right in the heart of the city. It has stunning castle-like architecture. It also has great onsite restaurants, a pool, and fitness centre. We recommend a room that overlooks the St. Lawrence River.

Le Monastère Des Augustines

There is a former monastery that has been turned into a hotel, wellness retreat, museum, and restaurant. It’s a great spot for those who want easy access to healthy food, yoga, massage services, and are still close to the heart of the city. This hotel is also a UNESCO Sustainable property.
